Privacy Policy
Service: Domain SeekerLast updated: December 19, 2025Contact: support@domain-seeker.com
This Privacy Policy explains how Halo Media Solutions Inc. (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use Domain Seeker (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Definitions
- Guest: a user who uses the Service without logging in.
- User: a person who uses the Service with an account.
- Provider: a third-party service you or we use to run the Service (e.g., model providers, hosting, billing).
- BYO keys: “Bring Your Own” API keys you provide so that requests are billed by your provider account.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Search input: prompts/queries and settings you submit (e.g., creativity, selected TLDs). We use this input to generate suggestions. We do not intentionally store raw prompt text in our analytics; instead we store a one-way hash of your query for measurement.
- Account information (if you log in): identifiers needed to authenticate you (via our auth provider).
- Saved preferences (optional): default settings and other preferences you choose to save to your account.
- BYO API keys (optional): if you enter provider keys in the settings menu.
2.2 Information we collect automatically
- Usage and rate-limit signals: counts of actions (e.g., searches per day), timestamps, and abuse-prevention signals. Usage limits reset on a schedule and unused usage does not roll over.
- Log data: device/browser details and approximate network information such as IP address and user-agent, primarily for security and reliability.
- Affiliate click events: when you choose a registrar option, we may record the registrar selected, the domain, and a timestamp for reporting and fraud prevention.
- Affiliate attribution data: if you click an affiliate link, we and/or our affiliate network partners (for example, Impact / Impact.com) may use referral identifiers and/or cookies to attribute a potential commission. This may include information such as click IDs, the referring page, and basic device/browser data.
2.3 Billing information
If you subscribe to a paid plan, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card details. Stripe may provide us limited billing metadata (such as subscription status, plan, renewal dates, and customer ID) so we can operate the Service.
3. How we use information
- Provide the Service: generate domain suggestions, check availability, and show registrar options.
- Security and abuse prevention: detect fraud, enforce limits, protect the Service and users.
- Personalization: remember preferences and settings (if you save them).
- Billing and account management: manage subscriptions and plan status.
- Support: respond to inquiries and troubleshoot issues.
4. BYO keys (Bring Your Own API keys)
You may optionally provide your own provider API keys (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or AWS Bedrock credentials). If you do, requests will be billed by your provider account, and platform usage limits may not apply (we still apply safety guardrails like timeouts, max token limits, and basic abuse prevention).
- Browser-only storage: you can store keys locally in your browser (e.g., localStorage). In this mode, keys stay on your device unless you explicitly share them.
- Saved to account (encrypted): if you are logged in, you may opt in to saving keys to your account. We store them encrypted at rest and never display the full key back to you.
5. Sharing and third parties
We do not sell your personal information. We share information with Providers only as needed to operate the Service:
- Hosting and infrastructure: AWS (for hosting and related infrastructure).
- Billing: Stripe (subscription payments and customer portal).
- AI/LLM Providers: depending on settings, either your BYO provider or our configured providers.
- Domain availability providers: services used to check domain availability (e.g., DNS checks and/or third-party APIs).
- Affiliate partners: when you click out to registrars, you leave our Service and their privacy policies apply.
6. Cookies and local storage
We may use cookies or local storage to keep you signed in, remember settings, and enforce limits. If you enable BYO key local storage, those keys may be stored in your browser. You can clear site data in your browser settings at any time.
If you click out to a registrar through an affiliate link, affiliate partners (including Impact / Impact.com, depending on the offer) may use cookies or similar technologies to measure referrals and attribute commissions. These technologies are controlled by the third party once you leave our Service.
7. Data retention
- Account data: retained until you delete your account or request deletion.
- Usage counters: retained as needed for enforcement, abuse prevention, and service reliability. We may delete or aggregate older records over time.
- Affiliate click events: retained as needed for reporting, attribution, and fraud prevention. We may delete or aggregate older records over time.
- Support communications: retained as needed to resolve issues and comply with legal obligations.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls and encryption for sensitive data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your information. To request help with privacy rights or account deletion, contact support@domain-seeker.com.
10. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date and may provide additional notice when changes are material.
